Texas X’s Name Dawson Shibley Head Coach

Conroe, TX — The Texas X’s are proud to announce Dawson Shibley as the team’s Head Coach, bringing a strong playing background, coaching experience, and deep ties to the Conroe community to the organization.

A longtime resident of Conroe, Shibley is a graduate of Conroe High School and currently serves as a biology teacher and baseball coach at his alma mater. He continued his baseball career at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor, where he played four years of collegiate baseball while earning his degree in biology.

“Representing the Texas X’s is an incredible opportunity that I’m so grateful for,” said Shibley. “Collegiate baseball is such an exciting level of the game that I’ve missed, and I’m looking forward to being around it again.”

Shibley brings a balanced approach to success, focusing not only on wins but on building a competitive and cohesive team. “Success this year won’t just be about winning games—it will also be about building a team that’s ready to compete at the highest level,” he said. “My goal is to have a team that plays hard and has a great time doing it.”

The opportunity to return to the intensity of collegiate-level baseball is what excites Shibley most about this role. “As someone who played at that level, some of my best memories came from those competitive games with teammates who loved to win,” he said. “I can’t wait to be around that level of intensity again.”

Beyond the scoreboard, Shibley is focused on establishing a culture built on passion and toughness. “I want this team to represent toughness and a true passion for the game,” he said. “I want every player to love being out there and not take for granted the opportunity to play this summer.”

Off the field, Shibley enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, as well as watching sports with family and friends. While he enjoys all sports, baseball remains his greatest passion and the foundation of his career.

With his local roots, playing experience, and commitment to player development, Shibley is poised to lead the Texas X’s into an exciting and competitive season.
